The Full Story

Los Angeles born, Bay Area raised, Lonnie Oceans aspires to bring real raw lyricism with unique West Coast style and art of story telling to the ever changing Hip-Hop genre.

While Oceans prides himself on exercising all his creative talents, be it producing, engineering or his love for photography, his first love has always been rapping. At an early age Lonnie's first introduction to music was writing raps with his brother competing to see who had the better bars. "Although my first rap was trash, I remember having fun with it". At 16, this new found love for writing pushed him to hone in on his craft. He started writing freestyles to different instrumentals, and out of frustration taught himself how to make beats.

"I did it because I was tired of using other peoples beats and thought why should I pay for something, when I can do it myself". With this realization, by the end of 2008, Oceans not only received his first producer credits but also released his first 2 instrumental albums.

In 2020 with the help of long time friend and co-founder Banks Sounds, Lonnie created Bay Area music collective 'The Wavemakers', a group of talented music artists, producers and creatives. Since the inception of 'The Wavemakers', Lonnie has featured and produced music for the ever growing collective while also releasing his own work with a plethora of singles, EP's and full length projects.

By 2022 Oceans, linked up with EODUB producer Soulful Soze to work on what is now considered a classic album "All Good Things Come in Time". While Lonnie is no stranger to art of storytelling, this album tells the story of how Lonnie navigates life, relationships and the growing pains of being an artist while also providing listeners a visual of where life can go with staying focused and consistent.

With the anticipation of his new EP " More Flowers", a second addition to "All Good Things Come in Time", Lonnie Oceans is setting himself up for a successful 2023.
